Okay, my bad for replying to this nearly a whole year later but, as a recent convert to iPaws, I’ve just been going through the archives… and, as a NZer, I always get way excited at any mention of any NZ artist…. so was overwhelmed with irresistable compulsion to chime in… anyway, Ladyhawke picked up 6 awards at the NZ Music Awards (including Best Female Solo and Album of the year) – yes, big deal, I know, in such a small freakin’ country. And also, controversially, won the Breakthrough Artist award in both album and single categories at the ARIA music awards in Australia…

… yeah, so chime over. BTW THANKS(!!) iPaws for saving me from my disillusionment with the music industry in general – you’ve opened my eyes to so many artists without whom I now wonder how I lived, before. so cheers!

you should know that the reason grimus isn’t more known isn’t that they’re located in romania but beacouse they got up the mainstream just the last year. and yeah, now they’re pretty popular. you know, we don’t eat rocks here in romania.

well. If you noticed, there’s a featuring on Grimus’s album ( on Time To Be Good Friends ). I searched the internet about that voice. I’ve discovered that man’s band. An excelent sample of art-rock / adult alternative. I sometimes wonder why such music stays unnoticed, especially in a country with any known artists.

I agree with you on Grimus! Amazing sound, beautiful choruses, melodic yet complex, with composite measures that flow naturally, tons of details that you miss unless you listen several times. They totally deserve a breakthrough, I will keep my eyes out for them
