Viola announce second remix album
December 5th, 2008 by Flint
Shortly after their debut the wonderful constantly-growing-synthier Viola (whose name has probably become familiar to you all already) released Melancholydisco, a remix album consisting of six remixes and four new songs – a remix album that’s actually pretty damn good and consistent in style. This December the same trick is repeated: 19th of December Melancholydisco 2 sees the light of day, sporting four brand new tracks and six remixes out of the band’s material from their past two albums from various Finns (including the lovely Regina).
As Viola tends to do, the release of a new album is celebrated with a free cut from the album. The band offers a fantastic song called “We Owe Love” on their website, one of the four new tracks featured on the album. It continues much in the vein of the gorgeous synth pop parade Wonderabilia and could in fact be an outtake. An edgier, dancier, more melancholydiscoer outtake. It’s catchy, it’s groovy, it’s made me repeat the song as hopelessly as all the previous Viola freebies before it. It may be “just” a remix album but based on the first Melancholydisco, hell yeah I’m waiting for this.
