Viola’s May offering – Nobodylovers

April 30th, 2009 by Flint

It’s the second month on Viola’s new path of life where they are releasing a new song every month rather than crafting full albums. First of May, second new track.

This month’s offering is called Nobodylovers and like last month’s “Cute Destroyer”, its main hook relies on repeating the title of the song as many times as possible. This month’s offer bows down a bit more to the electronic side of the band’s works – synthpop dance beats and tingly keyboard melodies fill the sound while vocalist Riku does some sort of pseudo-rapping on verses. However, unlike Cute Destroyer where the repetetive nature of the song actually worked for it in a brilliant way, Nobodylovers just sounds a bit awkward at times. It’s a minus, but it’s a small minus.

Download the song and the band’s whole (great) discography from the official site if you wish.
